A LIFE WELL LIVED

Betty (Torgerson) Lovgren was born in Tacoma, Washington on August 27, 1941 and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Tacoma, Washington on September 30th, 2026, passing away from an aortic dissection. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Lovgren, her parents, John and Dorothy Torgerson, her brother, Robert Torgerson, and her son-in-law, Brad Pederson. Betty is survived by her daughters Joyce (Liam) Purefoy, Janice (Thomas) Kvamme; beloved grandchildren Andrew (Alexandria) Pederson, Holly (Brandon) Holmes, Michael (Tiana) Pederson, David (Hannah) Kvamme, Marian (Colton) Davis, Stephen (Chloe) Kvamme, Theodore (Victoria) Kvamme, Juliana (Camden) Johnston; adored great-grandchildren Kierstyn, Everley, Maelyn, Remi, Lucy, Rosemary, Mara, Nicodemus, Magdalene, Margaret, Lily, Matthias, Sophia, Melchizedek, James; and countless cherished family and friends.
Betty graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma in 1959. After attending Central Washington University and Clover Park Technical College, and earning her interior design certification, she became a pioneer for women, building her own successful interior design business, Lovgren Design Associates. She was a sought-after speaker and writer in the interior design industry, and a longtime member of many professional organizations.
Betty and Leonard celebrated 60 beautiful years of marriage and devotion to each other before Leonard’s passing in 2020. Betty created a legacy of beauty for her husband, children, and grandchildren by keeping family traditions such as birthday breakfast-in-beds, tea parties, spring parties, Christmas caroling, baking days, and special family trips. She loved travel, drawing, calligraphy, watercolor, adventure, fun, reading, puzzles, nature, good food, music, color, fashion, and all of life!
Betty and Leonard attended Faith Temple Open Bible Church for many years and then Life Center for the last 40 years. Betty has lived a life of pain for many years but continued to love life, people, and beauty. She was kind, generous, and forgiving. Her greatest desire was that those she loved would find the hope of salvation in Jesus Christ for themselves.

Special thanks to the caregivers at Sunset Care Home in Tacoma for the great care of Betty during the last 2 years of her life.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
